England Census. This database will detail those persons enumerated in the Census of England and is an every-name index. In addition, the names of those listed on the population schedule are linked to the actual images of the Census, reproduced by courtesy of The National Archives, London, England. The census was arranged by “hundreds” (administrative subdivisions of land). The information was recorded in columns on two pages that face each other. For reference purposes, the National Archives assigned a piece number to each enumeration district and stamped a folio number in the upper right corner of each right-side page.
